SKE partners with industry

SKE wants to partner with industry to investigate the full breadth of activities and issues affecting the knowledge economy debate, so we've developed a program for partnership and research.

The program is designed as a collaborative process of industry engagement addressing key stakeholder groups through targeted research streams. The program now comprises nine projects at different stages of development, spanning areas of human capital, innovation, sustainability valuation and knowledge capital measurement and reporting.

"The key objective of the program is to advance practical insights into knowledge capital management and provide empirical evidence substantiating the benefits of understanding and managing knowledge-intensive resources," said Boedker, the creator of SKE's Guiding Principles on Extended Performance Management.

The initial phase will see SKE's program examine the effects of the changing structure of the economy and key elements of value creation on organisational performance, capital markets, stakeholders, and public policy makers.

"For the Australian economy to remain prosperous, it is critical that we provide greater visibility into knowledge-intensive resources as key inputs to economic production and value creation," Boedker explained.

"It will allow us to place knowledge capital, be it human, structural or relational capital, at the core of business strategy, providing opportunities for innovation, organisational learning and sustained wealth creation."

SKE has forged close ties with several policy making and research bodies in order to provide opportunities for dialogue and a insight.

The results of SKE's first collaborative research project with the Business Council of Australia were recently released. The project examined the potential role of a unified national innovation system in future economic performance. Learn more

The next two projects will focus on the valuation of sustainability practices and workplace strategy.
